Hello World!
Unity a word in itself full of meaning ,hope, dream of humanity....

My colleague told me on Thursday that she is going to celebrate Eid at her friend place...she is going to have lunch there…
I was quite amazed as she was a Hindu...
and more amazed when she told me that she had done that more than ten years ....
and I realised something....
here in Mauritius, we are firstly a multicultural island where we grow learning to live with so many ethnical and cultural differences...

unity-angel
we may be a small island but we should be proud of one thing:our unity...
unity-is-strength

unity in the sense that we can go beyond so many barriers and live in a relative harmony

for this week we have 2 national festivals in Mauritius:
· Eid ul-Fitr
eid-ul-fitr_comment_graphic_01
Eid ul-Fitr often abbreviated to Eid, is a Muslim holiday that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting (sawm). Eid is an Arabic word meaning "festivity", while Fiṭr means "conclusion of the fast"; and so the holiday celebrates the conclusion of the thirty days of dawn-to-sunset fasting during the entire month of Ramadan. The first day of Eid, therefore, falls on the first day of the month Shawwal.

· Ganesh Chaturthi

Ganesha Chaturthi also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi is the Hindu festival of Ganesha, the elephant-headed son of Shiva and Parvati, who is believed to bestow his presence on earth for all his devotees in the duration of this festival. It is the birthday of Lord Ganesha who is widely worshiped as the god of wisdom, prosperity and good fortune.
